Frequently asked questions
What is ArkFlow?
ArkFlow is a private, local-first personal finance app for iOS and Android. It organizes your bank cards, credit cards, cash accounts, stocks, funds, digital wallets, debts, and receivables into a single card-based wallet, and calculates your real net worth across multiple currencies.
Does ArkFlow connect to my bank account automatically?
No. ArkFlow does not link to your bank, brokerage, or payment accounts, and it never asks for your online banking password or payment credentials. You enter balances and details manually, and ArkFlow keeps that record organized for you.
Is my financial data uploaded to the cloud?
No. ArkFlow is local-first: your account, card, balance, note, and screenshot data is stored on your own device by default and is not uploaded to ArkFlow's servers.
What platforms does ArkFlow support?
ArkFlow is available on iOS through the App Store and on Android as a direct APK download from arklab.top.
Is ArkFlow free?
Yes, ArkFlow is free to download and use.
How is ArkFlow different from apps like Mint or Copilot Money?
Most budgeting apps require linking your bank accounts through a third-party aggregator and storing your transaction history in the cloud. ArkFlow takes the opposite approach: no bank linking, no cloud sync, and no transaction-level tracking. It's built for people who want a private, manually curated overview of everything they own and owe, kept entirely on their own device.
Can ArkFlow remind me about credit card due dates?
Yes. ArkFlow's home screen automatically summarizes bills and payment due dates for the next seven days, and you can mark them as paid with one tap.
Does ArkFlow give investment advice?
No. ArkFlow is not a bank, brokerage, or investment adviser, and it does not provide financial, investment, or lending advice. Its freedom score and net worth calculations are informational summaries of the data you enter, not recommendations.
Does ArkFlow support stocks, funds, precious metals, and crypto?
Yes. Alongside bank cards, credit cards, and cash accounts, ArkFlow lets you create a dedicated card for stocks, funds, precious metals (gold, silver, etc.), crypto, and virtual accounts, all rolled into one net worth view. On iOS, prices for these assets sync automatically. On Android, you currently update the value yourself, with automatic sync in development. Balances held in different currencies convert automatically at live exchange rates into your base-currency net worth total.
Where can I download ArkFlow?
Download ArkFlow for iOS from the App Store, or for Android directly.
Is there a net worth tracker that doesn't require linking my bank account?
Yes. ArkFlow tracks your net worth without linking any bank, brokerage, or payment account — you enter each account's balance yourself, and the app handles organizing, currency conversion, and the total. See the net worth tracking guide for how this works in practice.
Can I track assets held in several different currencies?
Yes. ArkFlow lets you record accounts in any number of currencies and automatically converts them to your chosen base currency at current exchange rates for one combined net worth figure. This suits anyone holding accounts or assets across multiple countries — see the multi-currency guide for details.
Does ArkFlow work offline, with no internet connection?
Yes. ArkFlow's core recording and net worth calculation work with no internet connection — accounts, cards, balances, and notes are all stored on your device. Only price sync for stocks/funds/precious metals/crypto, exchange rate updates, and optional anonymous usage analytics need a connection.
Can ArkFlow replace the spreadsheet I use to track net worth?
For most people, yes. Compared to a hand-maintained spreadsheet, ArkFlow manages accounts as cards, handles currency conversion and the net worth total automatically, and surfaces upcoming credit card due dates on the home screen — all things a spreadsheet either can't do or needs extra formulas for. If you want an easier way to keep records rather than a full financial modeling tool, ArkFlow is very likely enough.
How is ArkFlow different from bank-linked budgeting apps?
The difference is architectural. Bank-linked budgeting apps typically read your transactions through a third-party aggregator, and that data syncs through the aggregator's and the app's own servers. ArkFlow doesn't connect to any bank or use an aggregator — you enter balances yourself, and data stays on your device by default. That means no banking credentials handed to a third party, and no ongoing read access to your transactions. See the private finance app guide.
Can I track several credit cards, their due dates and annual fees?
Yes. Each credit card is its own card in ArkFlow, with its own credit limit, statement date, due date, and annual fee recorded separately. The home screen automatically summarizes upcoming due dates across all your cards for the next seven days, with one tap to mark a bill paid.
Does ArkFlow track gold, silver and other precious metals?
Yes. Precious metals are one of ArkFlow's supported asset types — you can create a card for gold, silver, or others to record holdings and value. iOS syncs current prices automatically; Android currently requires manual updates, with automatic sync in development. Precious metals are converted to your base currency and included in your net worth total like any other asset.
Can I track crypto without connecting a wallet or an exchange?
Yes, and this is by design. You don't connect any wallet address or exchange account — just create a crypto card manually, record which coins and how much you hold, and iOS syncs prices automatically (Android is currently manual). It's converted into your net worth like everything else. No wallet permissions, API keys, or exchange access involved.
What happens to my data if I lose my phone?
Because ArkFlow's core data is stored locally by default, losing, damaging, or wiping your phone will usually take your local records with it unless you've backed up. ArkFlow Pro can save a backup to your own iCloud Drive account, which you can restore on a new device; on the free tier, take care of your device or export your records manually from time to time.
What is the freedom score and how is it worked out?
The freedom score is a single number ArkFlow works out from the assets, debts, and cash flow you've entered, giving you a quick read on where you stand financially and roughly how far the next stage is. It's calculated entirely from data you typed in — it doesn't connect to any outside account and isn't investment advice. It just helps you make sense of what you've already recorded.
Can I hide my balances when I'm in public?
Yes. ArkFlow has a one-tap privacy mask that blurs balances and card numbers on your cards, showing placeholders instead — useful for checking the app when someone else can see your screen.
Does ArkFlow handle debts, loans, and money other people owe me?
Yes. Alongside assets, ArkFlow also records debts (like a mortgage, car loan, or credit card balance) and receivables (money someone owes you) — both convert to your base currency and factor into your real net worth, rather than just adding up account balances.
What does ArkFlow Pro unlock?
ArkFlow Pro is an optional paid upgrade. It currently unlocks foreign/multi-currency accounts, switching your base currency, visual customization of cards and accounts, and iCloud Drive backup with snapshot sync. Any further Pro-only features are marked as such on the purchase page. Core asset recording, manual entry, the privacy mask, and bill reminders are not limited to Pro.
Where do the card images come from, and can I use my own?
The bank card images in the ArkFlow Card library come from a public third-party project, provided for search and personal organizing only — ArkFlow doesn't claim ownership of the trademarks or designs shown. Beyond the card library, you can also search App Store icons or upload your own photo from your camera roll to use as an account's visual identifier.
